First off, sorry to anyone who came in here thinking there was some sort of sexual innuendo in the title here ("Bush" = "Pole" Geddit?? Anyone? Bueller? Bueller? Bueller?.....O.....K......)

Anyway, It's actually a simple poll about George Dubya.
I'm from Ireland, so we don't always get the full story from the States, more like the "official party line" released to the World Media.
We're almost led to believe that the vast majority of the voting public HATE Bush, yet he's been elected twice????
So what I'm wondering is, did he really pull the wool twice and "fix" two elections, or are his general popularity statistics grossly mis-leading?

The first time... well it was BS, but Gore stood up as a man and left everything to the legal system for the sake of his beloved nation.
The second time... you still remember who Bush ran against? I don't, seen CNN every single day of the election week but hey, it's the Democrats. cheers

The people who propped up Bush IMO did absolutely rig both elections. They figure most Americans are so sold on the "We are so much smarter than the govt, they can't possibly keep things from us" that they can do anything. Even appoint one of the most vile men they could to the highest office, no prob. Hell, maybe they're right... it worked didn't it?

Yeah, I've wondered about this too - it'll be interesting to find out how many people hate Bush....but didn't bother to vote.

So far the poll matches the media i.e. no-one really likes him, but somehow I doubt conservatives hang around sites like WTF.

I thought a retarded albino monkey was doing the job? My mistake.

George Bush is a person who was educated far beyond his intelligence. He has been propped up by his father, the Saudi's and others throughout his career. Without this help he would have been a down and out loser alcoholic. In times of trouble, he is paralyzed and useless.

He is an embarassment to thinking people across the United States and this is 8 years we will never live down...

I'm in the states and we don't get the full story either. You hear certain things more than others because empty cans rattle the most. Our media would have you believe that every day someone is getting eaten by sharks or pitbulls or shot by a 9mm semiautomatic pistol (every gun in our media is a 9mm semiautomatic, even if its clearly a revolver). In reality this isn't true. Same with the Bush thing. Most people I talk to at work or on the street support the president for the most part, but obviously there are things he does that they do no like.

There are those you talk to though who will rip on the president because its the "cool" thing to do, without actually knowing anything with substance. When you question them they can't give you any clear answer why. Conversations usually go like this:

them: "Dude the president is Fn idiot"

me: "Ok why?"

them: "Dude like the war in Iraq man"

me: "ok so what about it?"

them: "Because you know man, its wrong dude"

me: "Yeah, you've established that, what specificly is wrong with it"

them: "Its all about oil man"

me: "How so? You drive a car with a gasoline burning engine and constantly bitch about the cost of fuel, so whats your point?"

them: "uhhhhhhhhhhhhh you're and idiot"

me: "clearly"

It doesn't matter what your opinions are about whatever events are taking place, you don't have complete facts - though everyone has all their conspiracy theories (yes even the generally accepted stories can still be considered conspiracy theories).

About the elections... I think the first one was just a failure in the system. I think alot of the people doing the whining share the mentality of those who get owned in video games. Things don't go their way so its the controllers fault, or their dsl line choked, or the other guy must be cheating, etc etc. I don't know how it is in other countries but right now in America there is this huge "its the other guys fault" mentality taking hold of everyone. No matter what it is or how rediculous, its not your fault. Everyone here is a victim. You spill coffe on yourself and its the fault of the restaraunt. Your kid blasts someone and its the fault of the gun maker. You don't watch where you are going and trip over something and its the fault of the building owner. Same thing with Bush, he's an easy scapegoat for all kinds of things. Yes yes, he makes some lame decisions, but point out any government official that doesn't. And no this doesnt mean those bad decisions should be excused, I'm just saying EVERYTHING gets blamed on him. There is a small a minority of people here that almost go rabid and foam at the mouth at the mere mention of Bush's name.

I wish people would step back and realize that ALL modern governments are lying pieces of crap, it has nothing to do with Bush, Democrats, Republicans, Blair, etc etc. They are all one and the same.

Bleh how was that for my first post and tons of rediculous babbling?

That, my friend, would be a capitulation to fascism.
I think it's obvious they (the military industrial complex, the neocons) have gotten control over Bush. I remember the period right after 9/11 where Bush didn't want to hear anything about Iraq being involved in the Al Qaeda scheme.
Those neocons were yelling about invading Iraq right after the WTC attack!
And they even told the world why! They wanted control over central Asia.
Get some military bases over there. Control the region, control the flow of oil.
Lock China in a corner. Get some chance to control Russia.
