Personally I say Go CUBA!!!!! It's nice to be knocked down a peg or two on occasion. We Americans like to act like we are superior to everyone else and can do as we please. We are guests in that country and were asked to take the Christmas decorations down. Not only that they have to slap the Cubans in the face by putting the #75 in the billboard. We have alot of things we arent proud of and its good to see someone stand up to us on occasion. (Not flying planes into the sides of builidings or any chicken shit terriost act like that) But hell thats pretty damn funny putting up that billboard. Hopefully the man who put up that sign will be sent packing soon. It's one thing to stand up for your beliefs and a complety sepereate thing to be disrespectul on government property and government time.

well, i wont go so far as to say "Go Cuba!" but I do think that non-violent protests tend to carry the most weight. I would like to see the import ban taken away... I would like to smoke some Cuban cigars rather than crappy Phillies.

Cuba rules..It might have its downsides, but they still have one of the best life-lenght average in latin America, 95% of the population can read and write, etc.. If it wasn't for the US sanctions I think they'd do good (for example they have alot of qualified doctors but they're stuck with shitty material)..And what Castro did to Baptista and the rich landowners was just ownage. props to Fidel.

No, like I said, Cuba has its downsides. Cuba isn't a communist country. It's a socialist country. I'm not sure if you want to know the difference or not, so I won't bother writing on it.. But the reason I give props to Fidel Castro is, he saved Cuba from Baptista. Before 1959 Cuba was FAR poorer than it has been with Fidel ever since. In the pre-revolution Havana, there was the US mafia, US businessmen, lots of casinos drugs prostitution and shit like that. Baptista gave Cuban sugar almost for free to American corporations, and the Cubans working on the sugar plants earned shit. The population was treated like total shit no matter what and everybody except the Americans and the elite few lived in a world of shit.

When Castro won the revolution, he basically kicked out all Americans (mafia, CIA, businessmen) and seized all private property owned by the elite few (rich cuban landowners, more or less 1/1000 of the population) to redistribute the land equally. That's why Castro is a hero to most Cubans: he raised quality of life for everyone except those who were already rich (these lost everything and fled to miami).

Anyways I simplified the whole thing cause it's complicated and I won't go into the details but I think Castro is a hero for what he did, even though he definitely does "wrong" things like arresting people that speak against the system he put in place.
