You guys all know the Dan Rather scandal right? Does anybody think that Dan should resign? Well, he did a show becuase of some documents that he thought were credible and and it turned out that it wasnt. Does this sound at all similar to something else? Like for instance Bush saying that Iraq had stockpiles of WMDs?

Dan Rather's actions led to a inaccurate news report, not a war. He can always retract anything he said publicly, if he cares to. Nothing will bring back the 1000+ soldiers who lost their lives because of an arrogant president.

He was mis-led, not a crime. If it was proven he presented a fake on "purpose" that would be another story.

He seems to be a straight-up guy generally...

At least Dan Rather admitted he was wrong/his information was wrong. GWB is still arrogant and won't admit he's wrong - he just uses some other excuse to justify.

From John Edwards:
"You know, the Bush administration's explanation is: 'We invaded a country because at some point in the future they might get weapons of mass destruction?' ... I mean, the bottom line is, this is a convoluted logic to try to justify in hindsight what we now know wasn't true," Edwards said on CNN's "Late Edition."
hmmmm :mfinger:

Ah, no.

What Dan Rather did was put out a bad news report.

What George Bush did was "find out" (we shall see) he started a war for essentially no reason, and in his arrogance has continued killing people everyday, without remorse.

Not exactly EQUAL...

Nowhere even remotely close to equal.
For that matter he persists in his faulty ways, and holds everyone in contempt for questioning him.
His arrogance is paramount.
You want to drive up to the Whitehouse and yell “Just admit you fucked up! Just admit you took the wrong course of action!” (Right before the Free-Speech Nazis pull up and cart you away.)
