1.6a1 was just released yesterday on the trunk, a few (like one or two) people have built it already. I'm using it right now, it's considerably faster than 1.5Beta in my opinion; it uses Gecko 1.9a1 as opposed to 1.8b4 in the 1.5 Beta. All I could find was general SSE optimized version, nothing specifically for A64s, but this will work.

(Same build, different packagings.)

I haven't kept up on the extension compatibility of the 1.5 or 1.6 series, so how are things shaping up for either of those releases?

A lot of extensions can be 'bumped' by editing the maxversion line in install.rdf. I bumped a few that I use, if you're interested they're here. There are a lot that have been bumped on www.extensionsmirror.nl as well.

Here's a list of what I currently have installed on 1.6.

If you're already a Firefox user and want to continue using it, grab one of these G4 optimized builds. (I would stick with branch builds though, as the trunk can be buggy at times.) If not, try Camino.
