Florida a vacation state?
Truly not since the days of Miami Vice.

I live in the real vacation state, where dreams are fantasy and celebrity marriages last about 20 minutes,
or vice versa, depends on the of day.

As of now, Florida is reporting 2,926 new cases since yesterday putting their 20 day streak at 42,770 total for an average of 2138 a day.

This is only ~2.5K off the entire lifetime number of pandemic cases in Ohio.

Arizona reported +2,196 new cases (54,586 total) and has passed North Carolina. They're only ~3.9K behind Virginia, so another 3 days and they'll move ahead into 12th highest US case count.

NEW CASES! NEW CASES!

You know what I look for in this disease cesspool? You know what I worry about more as what should be the driving statistics?

Hospitalizations. Deaths. And also the number of recoveries.

Yes, the infection rate is staggeringly high... there's a 0% immunity rate when your body encounters a new disease after all. However, the amount of people being hospitalized from this virus are rather low, and the number of deaths are even less so. I get it in a way, no one WANTS to get this (gods know I didn't, came into contact with an infected person at work). But we have to remember that the majority of us that do get it can comfortably ride it out at home. Very few of us get put in a corona ward. And for the most part (there have been a few healthy exceptions), it's generally only those who are immuno-compromised that wind up as a fatality.

The most important thing that I hope people start doing more is take this fucking thing seriously! It's still a nasty virus, it still has the potential to at least kick you in your dick (even if you don't have one), and throw you in bed for a few days. And you gotta remember that even if you feel fine after you come back positive, your sorry ass can still go around infecting others. So please, take care of yourself, and wait for the all clear.

There can be massive side effects of the disease that you won't know unless you get further scans done, even if you were never sick enough to be hospitalized.

Coronavirus: Warning thousands could be left with lung damage

Tens of thousands of people will need to be recalled to hospital after a serious Covid-19 infection to check if they have been left with permanent lung damage, doctors have told the BBC.

Experts are concerned a significant proportion could be left with lung scarring, known as pulmonary fibrosis.

The condition is irreversible and symptoms can include severe shortness of breath, coughing and fatigue.

NHS England said it was opening specialist rehabilitation centres.

Now @BRiT lol, were you just making sure that people read the article? Nowhere in there did it say that those who weren't sick enough to be hospitalized were susceptible to this. In fact, to quote directly from the article:

"It's thought those with a mild form of the disease are unlikely to suffer permanent damage."

And:

"But those in hospital, and particularly those in intensive care or with a severe infection, are more vulnerable to complications."

The only part that shocks me is that this article is so recent. They were telling me about this stuff when I got diagnosed 6 weeks ago. In fact, the article talks about the study that my doctor was referencing:

"In a study from China, published in March, 66 of 70 patients still had some level of lung damage after being discharged from hospital."

Thankfully, my symptoms never became severe, and in the 3 weeks since I've been back to work, I have no shortness of breath whatsoever.

They don't know enough about the disease right now, so anything could apply or could be contributing factors later, so be careful now.

Arizona reported +1,795 new cases (59,974 total) and has passed by Virginia (59,514 total). The are now the 12th highest US case count.

Maryland is at 65,337 total. It would take around 4 days at the current trends for Arizona to move past this spot.
