Ever see an accident on the opposite side of the freeway and then see all the people slow down to witness all the pretty flashing lights? I hate them all.... I witnessed just an event Friday night from my drivers seat. This asshole in front of me slammed on his brakes with nothing in front of him, so he could satisfy his veiwing pleasure of the carnage on the opposite side. I had to swerve like hell to avoid him and ended up in the gaurdrail! So this guys pulls to the side of the road, and as soon as he sees a state trooper heading my way, he drives off like nothing's happened. What the FUCK is wrong with these people:confused: :mfinger: Now I have to wait to find out if my car is totalled or can be fixed all because some cum burping gutter slut could watch an accident....

Wow dude thats really not cool. I would have gotten out of the car, pulled the jackass out of his car, and then thrust his face into the guard rail multiple times.

But seriously, what's gonna happen? Is he going to get in any trouble for slamming his brakes or are they gonna say that you were following too close and that you were responsible?

i do sympathise but if you are driving a safe distance from the car in front and are paying attention then whatever they do should be avoidable.. i know we've all had one of those scare moments when we look up at the car in front and it's almost too late.. but let it teach you to drive better.
why didn't you get his licence/tag number?

Well, the "incident" happened at night, kinda hard to judge the distances. As for the tag Number, hard to see when spining into a 180 into the gaurdrail. The guy never stuck around either, the jackass. Would have been nice if they checked on ya! Already the trooper said I was to close and going to fast, tried to debate and he refused to hear anything I had to say, I got no ticket, but it looked like I was the ass who was rubber necking. Will find out about my car tomorrow however. :kickcan:

it's pretty safe to say that 99/100 accidents involving one car rear ending another are blamed on the car behind.
i don't know if this is an urban myth but i have heard from a friend in the insurance business that so many people driving junkers are braking right in front of people to cause an accident and get a payment/settlement/award that there are now teams investigating suspicious accidents where the vehicle that stopped was a junker and the one that 'hit' it was driven by someone with an otherwise perfect record.

Hell Void in California you ARE at fault if you hit someone from behind... period. It takes MAJOR legal gymnastics to get out of that here.

same here in TN.. everywhere i think.. i said 99/100 as i wasn't sure and also to lead into my 'urban myth' thing..

but really, i'd be embarrassed if i rear ended someone..

Rubbernecks hold a special special place on my shitlist. I heard some states or municipalities have specificly prohibitted it and have set fines for it. Unfortunately, I've been delayed many atime by some rubberneck bastid and I've never heard of anyone getting a ticket for it.
