Getting Pwned
NOTE: This is NOT a flame.
Lately, it seems, there has been much argument over getting “PWNED.” Some people seem not to understand what it means to get pwned. To my eyes, it means a few things. One of these things is that you have gotten insulted ironically where you cannot recover from it. For example:
Limpy: ”I don’t make errors in my writing. I’m spotless. Because I try hard.”
Awaken: “In the english language it is incorrect to start a sentence with the word, ‘because.’”
Limpy: “In the English language it is incorrect to not capitalize the word, “English.”
MaxPower: “COUNTER-PWNED!”
See, now the problem with the counter-pwn there is that I never said that I was perfect. I don’t capitalize things half the time anyways. Hell, I go out of my way to make grammar errors most of the time. For example I end a lot of word that end in “s” with a “z” if that’s the sound that it makes.
Here I am straying from our topic.
The example remains as a good, well, example of getting pwned. Limpy said that he was perfect in his typing/writing/whatever you want to call it. I proved him wrong by pointing out a grammatical error in the same exact post he said this in.
Also, by insulting a person in every way possible until they give up is pwning that person. This type of pwning, while just as effective, takes more time and is much less interesting. A short ironic flame will succeed in your goal and also make people laugh. This form of pwning a person takes thought and intelligence. If you can succeed in this,
So, the only question left is: To PWN or not to PWN?
Also, I would like your opinions on what it means to pwn someone.
