okay, now i know some of you may be questioning why this is in B&t, but i wanted it to reach the larger range of our community.

http://www.newstarget.com/gullibility.html

this is extremely interesting, i wanted to know (although im sure most of you are educated in these subjects) how many of you guys are being pulled by the system, although the fact i am in a different country made it easier for me, id like to see where the rest of you think you stand in terms of common knowledge.

although you will find whoever made this is clearly baised towards americans, most of it is believeable

My Score.

Learner
As a Learner, you're smart enough to know better, yet you're still not fully informed about reality. Around 15% of the population are Learners. You have the critical thinking skills to be a truly free individual, but you haven't exercised them enough yet. From time to time, you're still manipulated by the powers that be, although you frequently learn from those mistakes and refuse to be exploited again. You buy things because they are practical, not because they're cool.
If you were in The Matrix, you would have taken the red pill, but you would still be in a state of mild disbelief about the nature of reality. You are essentially unplugged, but still untrained. With more knowledge, you could become a true free thinker.

Your architects: You have always been an independent thinker. You rebelled against your parents, schoolteachers and always chose to hang out with smart friends who weren't necessarily that popular to the "in" crowd. Increasingly, you shape your own world by deciding what actions to take based on your own internal drive rather than what society tells you is right.

Action steps: Learn more. Educate yourself through alternative media and cutting-edge books. Read the answers below to get started

Welcome to the top 5%. You're a true free thinker and a person who is well informed about the reality in which you live. Although you may have been easily manipulated earlier in life, you eventually gained lucidity and developed a healthy sense of skepticism that you now automatically apply to your observations and experiences. You are endlessly curious about human behavior and the nature of the universe, and you have one or more lifestyle habits that most people would consider odd or unusual. You are not only of very high intelligence, you are also extremely creative in one or more areas (music, art, software development, inventing, etc.)

If you were in The Matrix, you would have taken the red pill, completed the combat training, and started fighting (and beating) agents from day one.

Your architects: You have cast off reality distortions taught to you by your parents, schooling, corporate advertising and government propaganda. You create your own beliefs based on what serves you best, without much regard for what the rest of the crowd is doing. You are guided by your own internal code of ethics (which may or may not agree with politically-correct ethical codes) rather than any pre-set system of ethics (such as from any one religion).

i am a learner, and i would have to disagree with some of hte things they put down as their answers.

FALSE. Monetary inflation, which saps the buying power of your dollars, is intentionally caused by the expansion of the money supply which is, in turn, controlled by the Federal Reserve. The net effect is a hidden tax on Americans' income and savings (a tax most people never notice). In an honest economy, the money supply would remain constant, and the annual inflation rate would be zero. Inflation is not natural, it's a manipulation that acts as hidden taxation.
although they are correct, inflation actually helps the majority of people, and hurts the rich minority. think about it. a lot of people take out loans, school, house, whatever. you have to pay that loan back. if there is inflation your money is worth less and therefore you are actually paying the bank back less. for the bank inflation is bad because they aren't actually getting as much money back, deflation is what the bank wants. so in other words inflation in small amounts is a good thing

FALSE. Although this was the "official" history taught to U.S. schoolchildren, we now know that the U.S. dropped nuclear bombs on an essentially defeated Japan. Japan was, in fact, attempting to initiate surrender negotiations even before the bombs were dropped. The primary purpose of bombing Japan was to demonstrate to the Soviet Union that the United States not only had nuclear weapons, but was willing to use them, thus cementing America's nuclear stance during the ramp-up to the Cold War. This explanation, of course, remains highly debatable, but the fact remains that even U.S. military leaders estimated no more than 50,000 Americans would be lost in a D-Day style assault on Japan. It's a huge number of lives, yes, but nowhere near one million. The two nuclear bombs, by the way, killed at least 200,000 Japanese civilians.
although, i think that it wasn't necesary to drop bombs on japan, i don't think the reason we did it was to show the soviets that we had nuclear weapons. there is a much more logical reason, imo, that we did that. at the yalta conference the soviets agreed to enter the war against japan 3 months after germany was defeated. we dropped the atomic bomb, days before then. the primary reason imo was so that the soviets couldn't get anyhting out of a war with japan.

on another side note i think that the dropping of the atomic bomb is too much of a controversial issue to simply declare being warranted or not warranted

FALSE. This so-called disease is entirely fictitious and has no measurable physiological basis whatsoever. Hyperactivity in children is actually caused primarily by poor nutritional habits (consumption of refined sugars and food coloring) and can be easily corrected in less than two weeks by taking children off all refined carbohydrates and food additives. The ADHD "disease" was invented to sell drugs and boost the power of the highly corrupt psychiatric community, which increasingly "discovers" fictitious diseases and treats them with mind-altering narcotics. To learn more, visit the Citizens Commission on Human Rights.[/quote

im not argueing to say that my test results were skewed, i just think that the people who made this test aren't exactly as "free thinking" as they want to believe.

I think this test is dumb as hell. The "ADHD is a ficticious disease". for one, is completely a subjective opinion. The "My government would never lie to me", well that's just  . "Pharmaceuticals cost so much only because drug companies need more money to invest in finding cures for disease", "The history taught to American children in public school is true and accurate", "Food manufacturers offer coupons because they want to help people save money", "Banks offer to finance home loans because they want to help people own their homes", "Surgical procedures must be proven safe and effective before being practiced on patients", "Prescription drugs approved as safe by the FDA are safe to consume on a long-term basis", "The U.S. is the most technologically advanced nation in the world", "Buying a home is one of the best financial investments you can make, and home prices will always continue to rise", "The mainstream news outlets (cable news, national newspapers, network news) in America accurately report war events in Iraq", "The United States of America is a Democracy", "Anything that hasn't been scientifically proven isn't true", "When you deposit money in a savings account at a bank, that bank holds your money for you until you ask for it back", "Most common diseases (cancer, heart disease, diabetes) are caused by bad genes and bad luck", all of these are fairly common-sense things that even "sheep" should be able to recognize. I really take issue with this though:

The Quiz said:
In 1945, the U.S. dropped two atomic bombs on civilian populations in Japan in order to force Japan's surrender and "save a million lives."
FALSE. Although this was the "official" history taught to U.S. schoolchildren, we now know that the U.S. dropped nuclear bombs on an essentially defeated Japan. Japan was, in fact, attempting to initiate surrender negotiations even before the bombs were dropped. The fact that we dropped two atomic bombs on Japan is a fact. The question included a quote, meaning that the phrase "save a million lives" was a subjective opinion. Therefore, this was true because we did drop two bombs, regardless of quotes.

Most of the quiz was very subjective and propagand-ish. :thumbsdn: This is an example of very poor argumentation.

I agree that this is kind of biased, but not against America, more against the rich establishment. Anyone who equates the two is definitly NOT a free thinker.
Hey, whaddaya know! Yuck was the only one who made that connection, and the test agreed with me that he isn't a free thinker! What are the odds?

Well, test-taking standards consider "cultural differences" (e.g., you are in India and you don't understand American government or know anything about it) to be biases, since in this case, Americans are (or should be) more knowledgeable about the questions. The test is biased towards Americans.

Rergardless, the writer is biased against the American government, or at least it seems that way. He or she makes no attempt at concession, only wags a finger.
