Well, this isn't my hometown, but this is where I am now.

As you can see, it is a bunch of NOTHING.

Here is a beautiful rainbow in the back yard-ish area. It was the biggest and most beautiful rainbow I have ever seen! This picture doesn't do it justice! (When you live in a farm town...there isn't really a back yard...it's just kinda yard...yard...and yard. LOL) What you see in the background is a train.

This is out my front window on a crappy day.

This is my drive to work on a foggy day.

This is one of my favorite reasons for living in the country.

Welcome to the northern part of central Illinois. We have nothing. LOL

I'm right next to a city and whatnot, but I don't go there every day. These pictures are just what I see daily. It's enough to make a woman go crazy! The small town I work in is a breath of fresh air after a while and that's kinda sad!

The name Jane Deere might make some sense to some of ya now, though I wasn't living in the country when I made the name...I just always wanted to. (I DO NOT KNOW WHAT I WAS THINKING! GET ME BACK TO THE BURBS! AHHHH!)

That's how I felt about where I lived before, about 30 miles north of here. A POS former Air Force base converted into low-income housing (a.k.a. meth labs) and several prisons. It sucked. :(

Here's a couple more pics, though. This one is called Castle Rock, a limestone behemoth jutting out quite noticeably from the west side of the Interstate 75 corridor. A tourist draw since the 1920's.

It, too, has a rather cheesy gift shop filled with t-shirts, plaques, stuffed animals, knickknack toys and silly hats.

As an added bonus, they have Paul Bunyan and Babe, his blue ox, frozen in some sort of freakish suspended animation.

But the big draw is climbing to the top of the rock, which costs $1. Don't worry, I sprung for ya. 171 steps later, you reach the top which gives you decent views of the Lake Huron and the surrounding forest. And, of course, you see lots of interstate highway. I tried to edit most of that out, though ... except in one case.

^ The top of the bridge from Castle Rock. And below are shots of the cement stairs to get up and down.

Beautiful place though!

Apparently a tourism promotion video about driving around my little island. Kinda cool, and there's some nice scenery.

Okay, cause I was thinking I would end up being that stereotypical woman driver and hit someone. :)

My hometown is sickeningly adorable.

Snohomish river and the bridge leaving town.

This is the rock that stands alone next to the highway that everyone paints for homecoming, birthdays, etc. Last year we had a stabbing and everyone got together to paint it to encourage the victims :)

The trails at Forest Park. If you follow them long enough, they lead you to the beach, but I always liked the walk better than the beach.

Not much to look at here. Unless you want to look at my fat kitty cat. FYI: Our cat is so fat that she knocked the damned concrete bird bath over trying to drink out of it and busted it.

The fishin' hole. Too hot that day. No luck fishing.

Jacob having better luck than me.

Burrito? Not really "Home town" - 500 miles away actually. This is not a happy fact.

Tub-O-Lard kitty. Closest thing to the burrito.

Walking around my neighborhood at night, armed with a six pack of Summer Shandy. Picture quality may be poor. City lights suck sometimes.

IMG_0783.JPG

Couldn't live on a better street.

IMG_0785.JPG

If you lived here, you'd be home right now.

IMG_0765.JPG

South Point from Las Vegas Blvd and Agate. You might find me here, at Putter's, or at 7-11 parked at a gaming machine. You might also see me in a great mood, the happiest fucking hippy in Vegas, saying hello to everyone and handing out free shit (like beer, cigarettes, and cash). This goes mostly to the homeless. Am I my brother's keeper? Yes, I am. :)

IMG_0771.JPG

Overlooking Henderson, NV from the corner of Serene and Gillespie. You'd have to be there. Endless lights. It's nice. The view from City Lights Dr. in north east Vegas (that's not where we are) is nothing short of amazing (I'm just sayin'). A beautiful little sanctuary in a shithole part of town (which is why I'm not there). Sorry Sunrise Manor, I still care. ;)

IMG_0759.JPG

Looking north from the corner of Las Vegas Blvd and Pebble you can faintly see the beam from the Luxor shining in the sky. In person, there is no trouble seeing it. You can clearly see the Tropicana, Mandalay Bay, The Hotel, and South Point from in front of my place. What's that, Eddie Murphy? Party all the time? ;)

IMG_0766.JPG

This is what a $4,000 cactus looks like. An amazing saguaro. This thing is easily a thousand years old.

IMG_0774.JPG

Walking down Gillespie, near Serene, a nice shot of the Luxor's beam bouncing off a cloud. Fuck Bat-Man.

IMG_0784.JPG

Isn't that guy dead? The bright blue light in the distance is The Strip. I am right near my front gate.

IMG_0788.JPG

Oh, Hai! Stop hiding from my camera. :p

IMG_0792.JPG

One of a few pools. This thing is way colder than you would think. I have man boobs now from my testicles jumping into my chest.

More ^

IMG_0776.JPG

Every neighborhood here has one of these. This one is across from some nice luxury condos on Agate (right across the street).

IMG_0780.JPG

The Manhattans. The shopping cart was directly across the street from here.

IMG_0781.JPG

Park Ave condos (not on Park Ave). I should have moved here. Not as many shady cats with a $300 price jump. Low budget hoes gotta go. :p

IMG_0769.JPG

The lonesome crowded west.

IMG_0775.JPG

Why the hell am I walking down this street?

IMG_0778.JPG

Follow north to the strip.

IMG_0791.JPG

...and don't forget to exercise, you fat fucks!

Edit: Sneak some day shots in there.

jhgdhjh.jpg

This is what you get when you spend the average "successful" person's yearly salary on desert plants. One gigantic fucking patio garden. The landscaping in the southwest is great. No place is more beautiful. No place! Fuck you, Florida!

IMG_0797.JPG

Shopping anyone? This place has it all. Just keep heading north from here and you will find many more places to spend money. Gambling, shopping, and golf are the number one reasons to come to Vegas.

IMG_0802.JPG

A nice view from the South Point parking lot.

I think this is the best picture I have taken of South Point. There is always too much light noise, even during the day.

Ride shotgun as I make the short drive to da projects from da South Point. I started filming after making the corner onto the boulevard. Welcome to my hood, and don't get caught slippin'.

Edit: My apologies for being a triple posting whore. I could seriously post millions of pictures of this place, though. I have been to countless cities, including LA and Orlando, and lived in 5 major metropolitan areas, but the is no place like this. I love it. I hate it. I'm never leaving. I know that already.
