I Miss School

Recently I saw a trending Twitter topic that said "Happy First Day of School" and I realize now I really miss my younger days. They weren't perfect and if I could do it over, I'd do it better. But damn, I sure miss school, especially my elementary and high school days. It doesn't even need to be different schools or the ones I wanted to go to, just my old ones with all their flaws and advantages. I think I especially miss recess and being able to socialize and study at the same time as my friends in the library.

Yeah sometimes I wish I could have my teenage angst back again and swap it for whatever I have now. Especially miss never taking a pen or any books into class and being sent to work at 15 because "school wasn't working for me"

I know what you mean. I recently went to take some of my industry cert exams at the college. It made me missing being in school. Looking at going to complete my bachelors soon...

I always start to remember school fondly... then I remember all the stress and bs like "algo design" at 8am taught by a Chinese guy you couldn't understand at all. And I had his wife for some discrete calc courses. That was a shit semester.

I miss having a bunch of friends in high school.
I, for one, do not missing having a bunch of friends in high school. It is impossible to miss what you never had! Besides, most of my classmates in high school were pricks.

No reason you still can't, well except for your restraining orders...
I do not have any restraining orders against me, yet ...

Funny how when you're younger that you can't wait to get out of school, be an adult, and start working, be on your own. Then when older you long for the easy 6 or 7 hours school days, and trivial responsibilities.

6 or 7 hour school days plus endless hours of homework. No thank you. It is nice to have a job you do not have to bring home.

When I was in high school, the only days I did not have homework were the last day of the semesters. I was a straight A student in high school, but only because I worked my butt off. I really was not one of the smart kids who got A's without trying.

In college it seemed that every professor assigned homework like theirs was the only course I was taking. Granted, much of the homework was not graded, but if I did not do it, I felt the consequences when I took the exams.

Much of the homework was reading and I was always a slow reader. If I wanted to become a medical doctor, I would probably be still reading the textbooks when I am in my eighties. :banghead:đź“š

I also felt that way in college, especially at my liberal arts school. At this community college I'm currently going to, I'm taking some STEM courses and a German and Philosophy course. This time it doesn't feel like the professor thinks you're taking just their class. I think my biggest problem is making learning not such a chore for myself.

Community colleges are more like high schools in terms of work and difficulty. I meant college as in university.
