Here's the point where you judge your fellow human being. Where you decide who, in your opinion has mastery of written thought. Remember to go into this with an open mind. Try to put yourself in the writer's place. Vote for the number corresponding to the one that you like.

For those of you who submitted an entry; you can bite your nails, pace, smoke, whatever it takes to get through the waiting.......the horrible waiting. Don't be nervous, it's only a hundred bucks at stake. : r.Evil style laugh::

i have lived in this country before i could walk and it has been one of the greatest places on earth. friends family all who i love agree that this is easily in the top five greatest places to live number 2 to be exact. the weather is excellent all year round. the beaches are world renowned and so are our athletes.

at this present time of year it is sunny warm and the beaches are packed with surfers. a sea breeze wafts through a 25 killometre radius from where i live the sun is out and its a steady 25 degrees (Celsius) about 80 f

its in the middle of winter as well everyone knows each other. people are fishing at the beach i can watch the sun set across the clear blue ocean. computer cafe's up the road. some of the best wineries 3 hours drive away, nothing but greatness of our small riverside city.

but the whole country the great red center home to the great Uluru sacred land surroundings old mining towns once full of people. the greatest opera house in the world. host to said to be the greatest Olympics on record. we have only a small population.

the greatest cricket team in the worlds history, i am proud to live here our reputation is world renowned
we are proud of our army, air force and navy. it may not be the greatest, but it has done us proud numerous times.

we are not an old country, but we are a great one we are a part of the commonwealth and proud to be. we always win the commonwealth games. we have our AFL the greatest sport in the country we have famous tennis stars and great allies. its in our nature to care and help who ever need it.

we have a priminister, we have many native animals, we are a great sporting nation, we cherish life and we have famous actors, were not to bad when it comes to swimming a swell.

in closing as one of our great icons once sung:

i am, you are, we are all #########

thank you, i wish i could answer my countries name.

I live in a country which acts as a crossroad for vast areas of land, sea and air, so trade is our traditional business. But agriculture is our main economical battle tank. Industry is hi-tech, our people is highly educated. We don't really have national pride.
We think in regions. I live in a region in the south, where we supply a great deal of the country's income, but in return have too little influence.
In other countries that would be the reason for a revolution, but not here, because the standard of living is so high we don't bother to get up and fight.
And in fact, there has never been a civil war, in a country which is very divided in culturally differing regions. The pride we have for our own region, has always been the motor for a common sense rivalry between those regions. And in the end we all share the profits. In history we sometimes cooperated with other much bigger nations, but that always did cost us a lot of money. And we got little in return.
That is why we strongly feel, that each nation in the world should mind its own business, and let other nations in peace whatever political system they have.
Every nation has the government it deserves.

***********************************************

03

DIVERSITY: Where in the world can you meet a person of every color, of every country, of every political perspective? Where can you go to meet people who speak myriad different languages, freely celebrate any religion, embrace one another's culture? Where can you learn so much about others and yet still remain connected with yourself? Where can you take differing views, from self-centric to family-centric to society-centric, and meet in public to peacibly discuss these views and mutually grow among people with whom you so strongly disagree? Where can you express your approval or disapproval of your government, your job, your boss, your circle of friends, your family, your place of worship?

You can do these things in my country.

GENEROSITY: What nation's taxpayers have created the largest wealth of humanitarian aid for every needy country on earth? Whose population has forgiven the most loans and dropped all its charges when the going got rough for another people? Whose brave soldiers and builders and engineers have always, INVARIABLY, stayed in the aftermath of war, of natural disaster, of epidemic, to help pick up and sort out the pieces?

Ours.

BEAUTY: In what country lies every climatic type, from forests to wetlands to plains to fertile farmland? Where can you see majestic, snow-covered mountains, vast uninhabited desert, and a bustling cultural centre in the same day? Where can you visit a rain forest, an amusement park, a shopping mall, a monument to cultural heroism, and even frozen tundra? Where can you fall asleep outdoors on a summer evening with nothing covering you and not worry about rain or cold?

In my country.

RESILIENCE: Which country has fought off persecution, oppression, wars, civil rights crises, imbalances of power among minorities, and even attacks on its own soil? Where can you go to meet a country that has, in less than half a millennium, grown to economic super-power status, all from the stand point of "send us your poor, your weak, your sick?"

My country.

PERSEVERENCE: Where do you consistently meet people of all shapes and sizes who have an unending work ethic? Where can you witness patriotism gluing together people who have historically hated each other most in the world? Where else does an act of terror so rekindle the spirit of survival in a nation?

Nowhere else.

OPPORTUNITY: Where can you go to take a shot at becoming filthy rich? Where can a poor African tribesman send his children to become refined, educated, successful adults? Where do so many people converge from all the nations of the globe in seek of a better life?

Here.

FREEDOM: In no other nation will you find a place where you can be EXACTLY WHO YOU ARE and still be so loved and appreciated by all the people around you, despite any and every difference between people that you can possibly imagine.

There is no place that I would rather be.

To work, to visit, to leisure, to live; my country is the place I will always call "home."

*****************************************************

My nations means one thing to me, and that is good 'ole Freedom. See, I am aloud to wonder around the streets at night, as drunk as I please, and show my large glorious breasts to whomever I please. As a student, I also have the means of making/starring in our very own student produced porns. At no cost!! I am also able to desecrate our beloved flag, just after our Independence Day!!! Thank you, Nation, for giving me the opportunity to raise hell whenever I choose!

Rays of glittering ruby light cascade over inky waters that glisten like diamonds in the sun. The waterfowl glide placidly by with their young close behind. Their wings tucked gracefully into their silhouette. Waves lap against the shore and the sound echoes in the wind and through the fiery leaves of autumn that are just awaiting their release form the willowy branches. The sun slithers behind the trees and the moon descends to its place in the vast night sky. Stars glitter against their velvety backdrop. A comet blazes across the sky and disappears into the dark never to be seen again. This is my land. My home. I'm proud to live amongst such natural beauty, and I thank God for it everyday.

A picture is worth a thousand words but a picture of the pride I hold for my country can not and will not be limited to such pity number. I can not tell you with in a billion words how beautiful this land is to me or how much I have and am willing to sacrifices for her and her colors of glory. There is no other place I would rather live and no land I would rather die to defend than this my homeland.

It is the freedom and it is the pride that everyone with in her boarders has. There is no question about it, for it is written across their face in so many different languages, beliefs and colors, yet all united as one. It’s freedom….the single most thing we all agree on in so many different way, the single most thing we fight the hardest for and will not give up for anything.

It is the way the beauty of our metal and steal city twist and dissolve into the graceful countryside. When you find yourself staring with wide eyes over the frosted cover trees of the first winter snowfall in the morning. The heavenly golden rays stretching across them lighting them in an endless glow and you are some how a part of that. You are lost for a moment in the freedom of knowing you are alive dancing under the small tiny diamonds that cascade around you and you become almost child like again. Unafraid of what other may think…

And in the spring you watch the rebirth of the land. So many different forums of splendor from the small tiny wild rose that you find in the golden fields of tall prairie grass covered under crystal droplets of cool rain. You notice the way the gray skis still seem beautiful and tint under that first warm sunset. You smile at how the Fry flies dance under a starlight sky and even the rich businessman is with out a price to pay for that.

Yeah it’s that feeling, it stretches form the rich to the hardworking man, to the bum on the corner with nothing left but hope. That single act of kindness that may help him to his feet, may give him shelters for a moment… may even show him the way back home. For no one in this country truly gets forgotten, no one is left hopeless and no one is truly afraid to step out there door and speak their voice. For that is what this Great Nation was founded on, that is what my grandfather fought to protect and to defend.

Dreams! And if one listens closely you can hear the dreams of a thousand, a million, an endless number of people’s voice echoing with in her great mountains down into the canyons of stunning colors that sweep across the prairies and drift with in the oceans of our water. Dreams that a few of us hold with in our blue stars… Dreams that turn into ideas that change shape and direct the rest of the word. Those dreams that so many come here seeking, so many reach and so many find on a different level…

It many not always be perfect and shinny but then no one in this country claims to be. We accept our faults and we try our hardest to correct our mistakes. We allow our flag to bow to no one and to no one it has yet to bow. We stand tall, unafraid and brave in the darkest of hours, we light our candles, tie our yellow ribbons and await our heroes. We are a young nation with our freedom, pride and differences on so many views to guide us. So many views to listen to… So many voices to try to hear.

It is once said by the Natives of this land that: No one can tame the wild beauty of this country. That it can not be fenced in or bought, that it belongs to all people and all things of life. As I look across my homeland, as I hear the notes of her music play, as I watch with in the sky the eagle soar still free and wild… I can not help to think how true that still is, how no matter what that will always be true.

My nation is home, it's where my people are. It is a naturally beautiful place. It's full of good people, who try to do the right thing. That doesn't always work out, but that's the idea. It's a funny place with clever, witty people, and lots of people who don't know they are funny. It is the kind of place where you can pursue your life as you invent it, and that makes it a great nation to me.

As I gaze over the still waters of a mountain lake, and look up at the peaks, still topped with snow, I am filled with wonder... I am filled with awe... The beauty and majesty of it all continuously (sp??) amaze me... from the rocky peaks looming above me, to the haunting cry of a Loon, somewhere far out on the still waters of the lake... This is nature... this is beauty... this is serenity. I have found true peace at last. This is my home.

so far. Good thing I have a plan for a tie breaker.

1) In the event of a tie, male contestants will be excluded.
2) Female contestants under the age of 18 will be excluded.
3) Female contestants over the age of 18 will be judged on their sexual abilities.
4) MaxPower will not sleep till a winner is chosen. That's how dedicated he is.

1. I did really like this. Very well written. However some parts you should of describe more into it. More detail. I want to know how you feel when you watch the sun fall over the crystal blue water or seen it turn to ice. It has so many general statements would just like to see them back up with more of your emotion. Over all very good.

2. Why does kit not like this one, ahh I had to put aside emotions to judge this fairly. Well you do make your country sound interesting to start out with but it gets lost under the political over tone. You gave me no true details about your country. Is it beautiful, is it open, what does it smell like, how do you feel waking up in your country. The flowery words that make up life. Another thing that got me was the misuse of “is”. Read your writing out loud can over come this. I realize English is not your prime langue, I will just point this out.

“Industry is hi-tech, our people is highly educated”

Try this. The industry is hi-tech and our people are highly educated.

Don’t forget the little words often are the sprinkles on top. It was not bad and you did make your country sound interesting just open up. This was about emotions, the love for your country, not your resentment for war.

3. I was moved to tears by your writing and honestly I thought people had lost faith in some of the things you said. I was glad to see it is not so. I loved how you asked the questions to make your statements. How you divided it up like a text book but not really. I love the simple feeling you gave for the love of your country. It is very uniquely done. Nice Job.

4. Cute your whole love for your nation extends from the ability to raise hell. However it came off like you was trying to get people to notice the fact you have big boobs and star in low budget porno. To each their own I guess and in the end that is what you love.

5. I feel like I have read something like this before. If so you had it published if not and it just sounds like it. You did a great job with describing how it looked and felt and I believe you was trying to use that to reflect the emotion you had tied to it. A little more detail into how you felt about this. What you wrote here could be a great opening to something truly wonderful. VERY NICE job though on the description of the beauty .

6. Comes off a bit to descriptive and over bearing at time. You lose me in the flowerily words at some point and it could have been tamed down and delivered in a much simpler format. Yes flowers are pretty but to many and it just looks messy.

7. Short, cute and a bit humorous. Kind of a different out take but I like it. Not the best written thing I ever read, but i did like it.

8. Very nicely done. I could feel it, I could picture it, I could sense it. It had a great balance about it and you should be very proud of what you have written here. It could of opened up into more but you chose to stop and just let it be there and with this piece I have to agree.
