Well today i ventured into nottingham, whilst there i was joined by my friends, about 8 all togehter, 6 girls, 2 guys, including me, then we came across my brother rob and his too friends steve and luke, god knows what they were doing in nottingham but anyway. This crazy looking Negro brother friend came up to us 'Right lads, you wouldn't beat up a black man would you' he joked, nah, we won't.. it's ok.
we all gave him like 60p each which is fucking nothing, like $1.50...
and he came n walked rnd with us for a bit joking with us n shit, bearing in mind we're all aged 14-17 and this guys what? 21? it was funny though
'Haha even if you did beat me up, i'd still end up in hospital, a free bed and food man, innit' and we just joked with him or whatever, 'oh man if you go into leicester (where we live - VERY multicultural) it's just full of paki's man innit, hahaha' You'd probably need to be from leicester to get that but it was so funny.
Right this guy, Nigel, has fucking lived on the streets for fuck knows how long, he has no money and has to beg from kids like us, you think your life sucks? shut the fuck up, this guy has nothing yet he still stays happy and laughing, so SHUT UP AND DIE U STUPID FUCKING SPOILT SHITS.

Wow. Personally I don't pity anyone because it's you who got where you are now. I think it would be pretty hard not to be able to get a job or a friend to live with until you get on your feet. Then again, I have never been kicked out of my home or laid off, or what ever these peoples excuses are. I for one intend to work hard to get exactly what I want and I also intend to spoil myself because I will have worked hard enough to do it. I am not saying that this person might not have done that, but I show no pity for that. If I was privelaged with money to go to college, I would take the bus or walk to mcdonalds and work and save to get somewhere. Then I would apply at better jobs to get myself experience. It might take me a hell of a long time, but I would go back to school and I would get what I wanted.

Good thing though that being a "Negro brother" he lives in such a culturally aware place, with so many intelligent people. I'm sure he does well with people like you around.

this is actually a very good point. how many times has a typical american kid done less-than-the-best in a population on something? for example, when you got the third-highest grade in class, or they seated you at second violin, your parents would tell you, "there's always someone out there who's going to be better than you at something."

it's really disheartening to think that we're all redundant, but mostly we are. but it's really encouraging to understand that no matter how bad or how good you have it, you could have it worse or better.

even though there are a countable number of people on this earth, you could not possibly line them up, in ascending order, according to "quality of life" or "successfulness."

attitude makes up a great deal of it. i make right around $48,000 / yr as a high school math teacher. plenty of guys make that in a day. plenty of other guys make that in their lifetimes, if they're lucky. i like what i do, and the moment i begin to dislike what i do, i'll find something else i like to do. that keeps me happy.

little shit in life should not bother us. period. but we all have relative norms and when pushed above or below them we sometimes react in strange ways.

UNDERSTAND THIS: most of you on this board are adolescents. that line in "The Professional" where mathilda asks "is life always this hard, or is it only when you're a kid?" and he says, "always like this," he isn't joking. it's always like this. the trick is that you learn how to widen your norms and you learn yourself -- you start to learn your own reactions to things and you become able to better govern them.

one middle school kid i know missed HALF A WEEK of school because he didn't have any more hair gel and he WAS NOT COMING TO CLASS without doing his hair first (no gel == end of world). clearly that kid's norm for grooming was narrow, and he'll "grow out of it;" what that really means is he'll learn to put it in a greater context in which it ceases to matter.

yeah sieje backed into entropy's car. *gasp* at least you both have cars. ;] fuck it, at least you both have homes and beds to sleep in.

it gets better, it gets worse; which one is entirely dependent on how you choose to react to, and work with, your surroundings.

while as a californian i do find this funny AND offensive, there are parts of europe in which this word is normally used as a descriptor. don't jump on him right away.

ps - as part of my masters thesis i am going to study something called 'culture types,' which i will define later, but i am hoping to get useful information from americans here.

You forgot to mention the indespencible companionship you have with me, Dan. But I guess if you lost those other things, I wouldn't exactly be a Constellation to you, would I?

you are a beautiful, shining star in my world. the stars individually are more important that way than they are in the context of the constellation. i can talk to you about tons of things that otherwise i don't always feel comfortable sharing with others. one day, i'll even bring you back to our team. i promise :p *hugs*

Ok, back to the main point of your thread? The point seems to be that you're a materialistic little twat. You said that people who complain about having a difficult life should basically just shove it and shut the hell up since they're spoiled little brats compred to this homeless guy who is content with having just a little bit of stuff.

By saying this you make the implication that they should be happy simply because they have "stuff" and he doesn't. Well, guess what, dipshit, not everybody is as shallow as you. Maybe they actually want something more out of like than just some money or a fucking Nintendo. This guy seems to have it. Perhaps, all these other people complaining have a deeper understanding of hapiness than you and actually want to be more like the "negro", as you put it. Me? I would be happy as shit to know that my life was that simple. Although, if I was going to be homeless, I think I'd choose a less shitty part or Europe than England.

you mean 'negro brother.'

good argument, though. careful on the flame-ishness, though, because it's not b&t.
