I'm going to be putting a version of it on some older P3's that I have sitting around. I was wondering, what distribution do you guys like? Which ones were nice to install for a first time Linux user? Any suggestions would be appriciated.

Mandrake is easy as hell to install but it can be kinda bloated. It's not bad, just kinda chunky.

To be honest, I'm still a Slackware fan myself even though it's starting to get bloated as well.

Mandrake is also supposed to be easy to use, but I've never used it.

I used 9.1 back in '03...It's less reliable than 2000 Pro/Server 2003, buggy as hell and it failed to run many apps that I compiled for it.

Think Windows 95 on steroids :D.

On the other hand, I hear MDK 10 is great.

I should get back into the Linux scene...

Gentoo has a FABULOUS installation guide.

I am thinking of jumping over to Debian, with as much praise as it gets from Mr. Junglizm. :)

Just grab one and run with it. The most common is going to have the most help. That's the route I would take, but you have all these LINUX experts that are going to tell you which Distro is the Best for you.
