Lost in another space and time,
I found another soul like mine,
Sifting through the stars.

I touched her and she gently
shook,
Then laid aside her rhyming
book,
And I my hoe and rake,
And then with sounds that lovers
make,
Our soaring minds were bound.

On crimson sky and crimson
land,
We thundered over the rippling
sand,
And in passion greatly grown,
That mortals have not known,
In a joining beyond these walls,
These gray and pinkish halls,
We made love betwixt the stars.

These centuries have gone,
And I am now alone,
Leaning heavy on my hoe.
But out there somewhere, I know,
She is dancing stately with a star,
Her body non can mar;
For she is but a dream,
A lovely, fleeting scheme,
That may ne'er be found,
Again.
