Not literally but unfortunately something like that!

Oh man, I haven't been around in awhile and today I am here b/c I've been deathly ill with something, something I have to wait a week to find out what it is or possibly still not know! Because...

I have extremely bad abdominal pains, fever, chills, nearly passed out from the pain the other night, etc. I go to see a Dr, ok my OBGYN, and ask him to run some tests and give me something to get rid of it. (It was purely coincidental I had an appointment w/ him and got ill around the same time.)

So we talk, test, and set appointments up for more tests, and a follow up visit. During my three hour Dr visit, we discuss my sex life. USE CONDOMS! That's all I have to say, no matter what use them b/c he tells me I probably picked up an STD from my b'f. He couldn't say for certain w/o the results but that's what he thinks. Plus had I used condoms, I would not be in this quandry of not knowing precisely what could be wrong with me right now!

F'n shoot my b'f now b/c if he gave me an STD, it'll be a lot more humane than what I will do to him.

So there you have the reason why this thread is entitled "Love Sickness". I think the title goes well w/ my story. Anyways...the question I have is how should I breach the STD news (if in fact it turns out he gave me one) to my f'n b'f? Your opinions would be most appreciated!

...and yes, I will keep you updated.
It takes about a week though.
:(

I hope it turns out to be the flu. But if he did give you an std, you should confront him and ask him point blank, "Do you have [std]?" No hello, no small talk. Take him by surprise, and he's more likely to be honest. If he says yes, maybe there's some legal recourse you could take? (or you could round up an e-posse on this here forum). Good Luck, and get well soon!

Hey NS, GGW will take it one step at a time. Of course, hopefully, she just has a bad case of influenza. But, if it turns out to be an std, she can get medical treatment, and then sue his negligent ass. That won't cure her but 1. the peoceeds from a law-suit could help fund her treatment (or at least provide gas money) 2. He's less likely to infect any more innocent girls if he knows he has to pay for it. And even if she has no legal recourse, she'll get treatment, maybe attend a support group, and live on. Lot's of people out there have stds and they still live rich full lives. But i'm crossing my fingers and hoping GGW just has the flu.

You can't sue someone for making you sick.

The best bet is to just confront him. Say "Hey, I got those test results back today. I have xxxx and you and I need to have a chat about that. See, I didn't have it when I met you, I haven't been with anyone since I met you and that kind of leads me to think that YOU gave it to me. Yes, I'm pissed. More importantly YOU need to go to a doctor and get tested so YOU can get treated."

Assuming of course it is an STD and not something entirely different like:
1. Food poisoning
2. The flu
3. Pregnancy (which is an STD depending on how you look at it)
4. Some as yet unamed illness that we'll all know as GGW in a few years. ;)

When you do confront your b/f about the whole situation and he winds up not knowing if he has an STD, when he gets tested, make sure they do the swab test on him, NOT the blood test :D
He deserves it for passing it along before noticing it and this will provide a little bit of that pay back he's due.
Any one who knows about getting tested (guys) should know exactly what I'm talkin about. For any one else just checkin up, GET THE BLOOD TEST!
We know it doesn't detect all of them, but it's a much more pleasant experience.

very true, but you can take legal action, if you have an std it's required by law to inform your partners, hard part is proving they didnt inform you though...

I'd say confront him, flat out, if he says no, and you do have an std, get him tested to prove he doesn't.

hey, i want to thank those of you who have responded so far. i've never been in this situation before muchless thought about it! so i was a little lost when it was "sprung" (if that's a word-don't think so) on me. it makes me happy to see people respond and are helpful.

i too hope it turns out to be minor like a stomach flu/virus or something non STD-ish. we tested for curable STD's that were relevant to my illness/predicament...that's the good news, i suppose. yah, this guy would definitely be the one to have infected me if i am- no qualms there.

anyway, i've been on bed rest and meds for the last few days. i am starting to feel better. hard to tell though, the meds you take to feel better often make you sicker!!! Grrrrrrrr!!! Ha, ha. thanks again guys for the advice.

much love.

ps fortemptation....yes, i think i will recommend a thorough swabbing test.

Well, these days, who knows? People are suing for some dumb shit these days.

GGW, I hope you get better and all that jazz. I think castration would be your best bet if it is a STD. Then at least if you turn him loose he's safe to other girls, right? j/k.

Please keep us posted.

I think the worst part about contracting an STD, aside from side effects and all is telling someone you're interested in about it. It's a fucking burden from now until you find the one person who is smart and knowledgeable enough not to let it get in the way.

Funny story though, last time I went to my gyno, she was like "Good choice being a lesbian, guys are so dirty".

It really sucks but you can't trust a lot of guys to take care of themselves. I knew this one dude who went to Brazil without his wife, fucked like crazy, came back with warts on his dick.

Now I don't want to start a war of the sexes but it's true, a lot of guys don't think about things like this.

men are capable of two distinctly different thought processes.. one involves a supply of blood to the brain and is generally rational, the other involves a supply of blood to the cock and is.. erm.. tits.

If she's got an STD he's going to have to get tested. (Unless he's a complete idiot.)

But before we go off and burn her guy at the stake let's all chill out. Let's not forget that the guy may not even know himself. When it comes to shit like this guys tend to think nothing's wrong. Unless we've got warts or puss we figure it's just something we ate. That's assuming GGW's man even has symptoms.

Everyone's making it sound like he did it on purpose.

GGW, keep your chin up. You'll know what it is soon enough and from there you just move forward. Maybe you castrate him, maybe you knee him in the nuts and say "Don't EVER DO THAT AGAIN!"

It's like that episode of south park, where a man dressed up as a panda comes to south park and teaches everyone about sexual harrasment. The long and short of it all is that Eric sues Kyle for calling him an ass sucker, the the whole situation escalates, until everyone is suing everyone!

South park teaches us all the value of life and never to set ur farts on fire!

A GOOD LESSON TO LEARN

Okay, assuming she does have an std (worse case senario - she probobly dosent...) he would be at blame. Even if he had no symptoms, and did'nt even know he had it, he still would have had to be unfaithful right? That's why they're called sexualy transmitted diseaes!

Anyway GGW, I hope you feel well soon, and they you just got the stomache flu or something like that :)

You seem to be forgetting that he could have brought it with him from a past relationship. STDs are tough that way. You could have one for YEARS without knowing.

yes but depending on the STD, now by what we are talking about, i really doubt its the worst one you can get. at most it could be clamidia(SP?) nothin antibiotics can't fix. now we know it isen't herpes, so its something that can be cleared up by some drugs.
GGW props for posting this, took a lot of courage and balls. glad some of the kiddies can see what can happen if they love with no glove. teehee i love saying that.
just a heads up, did you know guys can pass around more STD's and not accually have know they have anything? they carry them around and spread the love to all the girls they sleep with, so boys, use this as a lesson, wear condums, if you infect a girl and it takes her too long to get it cleared up, you could sterilize her or worse.
