Hurricane state makes movie plea

Senators from Louisiana have sent out a call to film producers that the state is still open for business despite the devastation of Hurricane Katrina.
An audience at Toronto Film Festival heard the tragedy had not halted productions already filming.
"Yes, we are wounded; but we are healing and we need your help to continue doing that," said State Senator Art Lentini.
Several producers pledged to base films in New Orleans.
Michael Shane, executive producer of Catch Me If You Can and I, Robot said he will move production of his next thriller, Paranoia, from Brazil to Louisiana.

"We want to empower, we want to show the film community down there that we're here to support them," he said.

no, i don't see it that way.. i see it as another 'hope' story.. same as the one yesterday about NOLA strippers..

in the full story i linked to they said they were going to Toronto anyway to sell the city as a movie friendly place, and now they REALLY need the patronage..
