No Choices

It seems before you're an adult you have absolutly no choices. I am told when to eat, sleep, and shit :( . I wanted to grow my hair long, cant. I wanted to move my T.v. close to my computer, cant. My dad said i had to quit drinking pop because i drank to much. He started to buy juice, now i cant drink that cause its too expensive to keep buying it. Some days i want the whole earth to be covered in disease and for every one to die a horrible LONG death! . Unfortunatly that wont be happening soon.

You can't really do whatever you want when you're an adult either. It's just the things you can't do are on a larger magnitude - like you can't go on vacation because you have no time off from work or can't buy a house because your credit rating sucks or something. It's all just a matter of perspective.

What are you talking about? I do whatever I want. I order pizza at 2am. Drink gallons of mountain dew a day. Eat candy until I am sick. Every videogame system and 2398572394802 games...

Oh wait, I'm broke as fuck tho.

Chrix has none of them. It tends to be my fault with those. Besides, those aren't any good anymore anyways! HAHA! actually, that's not funny, it's sad. heh.

He buys his videogames with cash out of his paychecks. He knows he won't get any from me. And he gives me most of his checks too. More than I ask him to. I ask him for about $150 a month, and he gives me $200 of every check. (Not that his checks are all THAT much more). But we are actually bouncing back relatively well. Things are calming down a bit and while I still have a butt-load of debt, I won't have to sacrifice paying one bill to pay another. In fact, I should have enough money by my birthday to get decently drunk at the club that charges $5 for the cheap beer.

Yay!

I'm so so glad that we're not that bad off. In fact, I pay more on the credit card bills each month than I have to. (Which in turn makes us overly tight by the time pay day rolls back around, but we manage.)

Tough isn't it? Always remember that has hard as you work to put money in your pocket, there's someone working twice as hard to get it out you.
I don't understand buying video games to the point that it leaves you broke, but whatever floats you boat. I have three kids and just trying to keep them in clothes that fit is a task.

Broken:

There are a lot of factors to my financial retardedness right now.

1) I ended up moving out of mommy's house without much planning/saving because she was trying to give my dogs away. So I moved to keep my babies.

2) Groceries on credit card. Which wouldn't be so bad if...

3) I somehow got talked into going on a cruise. It was a whole bunch of people and I'm pretty much the only person that didn't have a good time, so it's not that it wasn't a great idea. So many people from all over that I did and didn't know, the possibility for fun seemed worth it. And it wasn't so much the cruise tickets and whatnot that fucked me up... it was the airline tickets. :(

4) Video Games. Well, I don't need all that many video games at all. But the boyfriend is very much into them and works "in the industry." ok, he doesnt develop them but he works at a store and gets paid a rather decent amount, especially since it's so close he can walk. (Which is good since he doesn't have a car... I could get more into that later). So he sees all these games all the time. I understand it's hard working in a store of stuff you totally love. My paychecks never saw my bank account when I worked at Victoria's Secret. Anyway, he's a good salesman cause he knows his shit and he gets recognized for it often. He's in training to be Assistant Manager, and should get his own store a few months after that. The biggest fallback of his job currently isn't being around all those games but that it is part time with no benefits.

Right now I am trying to save money to fix my car. It runs fine and all that (except I need an oil change. I get paid tonight though). But a few months ago I hit a couch that was in the middle of the highway and it dented my passenger door in such way that it can't open. Mostly more of an annoyance than anything since I hardly have passengers. But it's horrible when we road trip to cincinati cause we usually have a friend with us, so SOMEONE has to climb in and out. It sucks. I DID get money from the insurance company, but that ended up getting spent on the previously mentioned airline tickets. :(

My wife was working she had a great freaking job. I was working for an engineering firm and traveled a lot. We's was bankin! Cha Ching$
Then bang right back to square one. I had to take a job in town, for the same amount of money, but my wife became a stay at home mom. Argh...She has an even better job now, but now we are playing catch up.

Keep your head up and in the game. You will be fine.

I'm also looking around for new jobs. There are plenty that will pay me more and/or recognize the work I do for their company. I have really gotten to the point of zero motivation at my job. It's fucking retarded. I've been there almost 2 years and NO RAISE AT ALL. God... I don't even want to get started on that rant again.

it's soda, not pop

can't you maybe get a job? that'd get you some money *and* get you out of the house sometimes. i had my first job when i was 14, but the two years before that i volunteered because i was too young to get paid for anything. still got me out of the house

my mother never let my dad pester us about getting our hair cut, she figures we can look like fools if we want to and it doesn't reflect poorly on her

I got a paper route when I was 12 or something like that. When you are under 18 those things are nice cause you don't have to worry about taxes or something. I forget what, but my mom talked me out of getting another one when I was 19 for some extra money. But when yer young it generally provides enough money for your needs. Lifeguarding is another good one around your age (not that I quite know what age you are. I am guessing here, of course). Look into when classes are at the YMCA. I don't know any parents that would not pay for lifeguarding lessons cause then a) kid can earn money for themself and b) it's just a damn good thing to know.

On the pop front: don't get all addicted to it. That shit is almost as bad as cigarettes. Learn to love water. heh.

Hair: Sure! Fucking shave it all off! Such a liberating thing. Hell, I'm thinking of doing it again myself. It's kinda nice. Oh god, especially in summer. I just don't recommend doing it for another month or 2, depending on where you live. Heh.
