SEOUL (Reuters) - North Korea described President Bush Monday as a tyrannical political imbecile who put Adolf Hitler in the shade and said Pyongyang could see no justification for talks with his administration.

Six-party working-level talks on the communist North's nuclear weapons ambitions had been planned for August but have yet to materialize.

The September date for more senior talks is also in question, although diplomats note Pyongyang often raises its rhetorical voice before attending talks or compromising.

South Korea's foreign ministry said Monday its top nuclear negotiators would visit Beijing and Tokyo this week for consultations aimed at restarting the main talks.

In a strongly worded statement published by the official KCNA news agency, a North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman said Bush had hurled "malignant slanders and calumnies" against Pyongyang's leadership under Kim Jong-il.

"This clearly proves that the DPRK was quite right when it commented that he is a political imbecile bereft of even elementary morality as a human being and a bad guy, much less being a politician," the spokesman said. "Bush is a tyrant that puts Hitler into the shade."

"puts Hitler into the shade", classic.

OK, I'm no Kim Jong-il fan, but when even "he" sees Bush as a "tyrannical political imbecile", that's saying something...

Haha...

He's got a good point there!

North Korea has about 100 nuclear weapons, the USA about 20.000 or so.

North Korea has no real technical possibility to launch them.
America has.

The only thing that can keep American interference in Korea away is the fear the North Koreans would destroy the entire Korean peninsula.
(A nuclear attack on Seoel, with the immediate counterattack on North Korea by the USA)

So talking has as much sense as a mouse negociating with a hungry cat about its future.. :axe:

Does it really matter exactly how many we have when it's pretty much certain we have enough to reduce the whole world to rubble, and then make the pebbles bounce?

Bush threw the first punch..

First... Bush said N.Korea was part of the Axis of Evil..
Second...he called Kim Jong-il a PYGMY
Third - he said, in an interview...that he 'loathed' Kim.

Bush set the bar so low that it's flat on the ground. His inability to behave like a statesman... or to even pretend to be one has reduced the banter between nations to this.

Bush may? Others may not? No way.

DanGeo,

We need to "care" about what the world thinks of us, because we have to get along here. We need to try to keep it on a higher level, not stoop to name calling.

Unfortunately, our rep is in the shitter because of your boy. Time for a change...

That just about sums what most people think in a nutshell, when actually it's the whole administration. Bush couldn't run anything in government if his life depended on it.

True, he is Pinocchio, not Gepetto...

But an "easy" target...
