Alright, I am having this problem with my neck. For a month now the left side of my neck has been hurting me from the top of it to my shoulder. I have tryed heating pads, getting massages from my boyfriend, but nothing is helping. Some one told me that it could be a pinched nerve. Should I go to the doctor or do you think it is just a waste of time?

I say go to a CHIROPRACTOR, not a reg doctor. He/she will give you an adjustment and you'll feel SOOOO much better. I get the same thing all the time. Trust me, it works wonders.

If it's a slight pain,it shouldn't last for more than a few days. For something more irritating, like a constant stabbing pain, then yes you should see your Doctor if it wont stop within a few hours. Be advised,if in fuct you did pinch a nerve, there is a good chance you'll never fully recover from it. Being that it's in your neck,it's likely you'll aggravate it in the future.
Hmm...Not sure how you might aggravate it,but, you just might.

god, sorry to be off topic, but could u have a freakier av. Gehtfuct??? My god, I hate him. Freaky shit. K, sorry, back to the topic. I really think the chyropractor will fix ya right up. Although, like gehtfuct said, if u do have a pinched nerve, u may have to go in again at some other point.

Holy shit that happened to me, I slept on it wrong.. Take some advil to get rid of some pressure that could be there, keep doing the heating pads, massages do help, and hot showers also. Don't test it and keep moving it around, keep it as relaxed and in one place (straight) as you can, sleep on your back and keep it as warm as possible and don't drink caffeine because that tightens muscles which could make it hurt more and last longer.

I did not sleep on it wrong though, I have always for years slept with two pillows because of my sinuses. No, I hurt it one day last month when I was doing my hair one morning, I was putting clips in the back so I held my head down, and then when I jerked it back up, I did it to fast and something popped in it and its been hurting ever since. I can't stop the pain, everytime I work and get tired it gets worse with stress, when I get comfortable in one spot then have to move to get up, it hurts to move my neck.

After a month, yes it's time to seek professional help. Without a doubt.

I don't think your BF, would have the necessary chiropractic skills! Does he??

In any case see a chiropractor.

I think the spinal cord extends into the neck, missy. Correct me if I am wrong...

Well i know that much, tardo. I just ment that its not really that part of my neck bothering me, its my left side, and the way it sounds it may be a pinched nerve as of what some people I have talked to at work and at home.

Sorry for the tardo, don't hate me :(

I was joking about the tardo thing...I guess some people can't take jokes. Anyway, I don't need to see a shrink, why would I need to see a shrink? There is nothing wrong with me to see one.

Thanks Twist...They all sound good, I think I am going to go to the store tomorrow or whenever I get a chance to see if they got anything like those for my neck and see how that helps.
