Discuss Political Websites Blocked

I just caught the tailend of a talk radio conversation about political websites. Apparently (from the snippet that I heard) some college networks block some notorious political websites. It could possibly be the government paying these colleges off or something crazy like this. Doesn't this the violate freedom of speech before the most influencial group of young people out there? This is part of the Patriot act and there is a program that is called Carnivore that is like a security system on the internet that acts as a vacuum to suck out all the "high-threat" sites. Should this act be taken back a denounced as unconstitutional? Furthermore, do citizens have any rights?
How many people out there actually care about our rights? Far more than that that are protesting.

ive never heard of that....this is one of those things that make me wonder what other rights are they ..in a way...subliminaly[sp] taking from us.....what else are they doing that we dont really think about....that infringe our constitutional rights....
we see the obvious....but what about these..like the one mentioned above...guess i better watch out next i go to walmart and use my 'wal-mart' discount card....dont want them red-flagging me when i buy some ajax...pool cleaner...matches...or windex....

Well here's a better question instead of what other rights have they taken away: What rights do we still have left? And better yet, who is really in charge? Do you really think Bush is thinking all this up by himself?

What can you say, there are always forces trying censor what we can see, hear, experience. These kids are paying for it. Wow...

What do you expect? You have conservatives who run these colleges. If any college did that I'd fucking leave it.

Some conservatives are not pro-freedom of speech on the net. I know a republican in my school who is a really ignorant person and says the web should be censored. It's one of the few times I wanted to kick someone's ass. I hate violence, but he really got me going. Must be my geek nature.

Carnivore has been around for many years. Umm, sorry I mean It doesn't Exist. Forget I said that. All I can say is Do a Google search for the Alleged Carnivore, or what they allegedly changed the name of the project to DCS1000. Again, this has been in use for years; allegedly.
