It's an old article, from 2001, but I never saw it before.

It turns out it was a failed joint venture between nVidia and Sega that yielded such a horrible chip that it couldn't even be produced.

And it used Quadratic Texture Maps, which no one, not even Sega, who's Saturn console used it, had any faith in.

And to think it almost killed nVidia as a company, I mean shit! these guys are the same ones bringing us the amazing Geforce 6 line of products.

If the Riva 128 chipset never came to fruition, they would be dead in the water.
