Some progress is being made with porting Basilisk thus far, you can check in for yourself by visiting the forum thread. Also, I've decided to post my "work", for various reasons. You can download all of the necessary files via this torrent, though you will need BitTorrent to download them. Extract the files using 7-Zip and copy the directory structure to your PSP starting at the root drive. Please note that by default this setup will not work. To load vMac you must use an img file editor, dump your Mac's ROM, and copy it into /vmac/vmac.rom within the image file's directory structure. After the ROM file is in place you may copy the image to your PSP. Anyway, hope this helps, and let me know if there are any problems - to the best of my knowledge, all of the tools required have multi-platform versions. Oh, and the version of PSPbochs in the archive is for firmware 1.5. Obviously, if you have 1.0, you can download the original files. If you do not have a version 1.0 or 1.5 firmware, you know what you need to do, though the legalities of that (and the consequences of voiding your PSP warranty) are your responsibility. Note that this is SLOW. DOS will take a few minutes to load, and then the system will hang on the vMac status messages for a very long time. The screen will blank for probably an hour, and then the standard gray Mac background will slowly draw itself on the screen. Don't give up! If you get to the vMac boot messages, it's working.

There is a nice little version "downgrader" out there to run all kinds of nifty homebrew apps on the PSP. And more. ;)

/me wants a PSP to play with. I don't care about the games, I just want to play with it. :happysad:

Yeah, with as many kids we have around here, it probably wouldn't last long.

They will probolly stick some really small distro running either no GUI or icewm cause icewm is small.

They've gotten Linux running on everything. Including Dreamcast and XBox and even my Casio BE-300 MIPS R4000 based PDA.

But keep in mind even though the Dreamcast says "COMPATIBLE WITH MICROSOFT WINDOWS CE" and the XBox uses a Windows XP based shell, neither has run a full blown OS yet. They just contain DirectX API's, which is why both DC and XBox are so ridiculously easy to program, especially DC.

And you'll never see Windows CE running on the PSP.

I have linksboks on my xbox. It's pretty cool.

Yes, I can surf the internet with my xbox, but what a pain in the ass. What's the point? I have a computer. :happysad:

The best thing for the Xbox, IMO, is XBMC. To be able to access all my movies on my computer and play them on the Xbox is pretty cool.

That's pretty sexy. I may look into that, or I might just use TV-OUT on my 9700 Pro.

PSPs are not worth it. my brother left his in my car, and apparently the heat got to it. the screen had a long crack across it.

and as we know, the Limited Warranty does not cover acts of God or other eternal forces.

leave the damn things alone.

i cant understand hacking the shit out of something as expensive as an psp with the chance that youll fuck it up. come on buy the games play them. if you have a pc then there is really no need to surf the web on your psp unless you gotta have some porn on the job or in school.if thats the case then get some damn pussy.
