Alright, every person attending my highschool is required to take "Technology Foundations." Basically, they teach your how to type (and other shit I already know).

The thing is though, they do it stupidly. We sit in chairs that are extremely uncomfortable (sitting in it, you'd actually think the back slanted forward), and stupidest of all, typing is no longer just an arm-oriented activity.

We have to poisition our feet just so for "balance." I'm sorry, but the last time I lost my balance while typing was... wait, never. If you don't have the coordination to sit with your legs crossed (as I prefer to do), odds are you don't have the coordination to type either.

Also, we can't type with our wrists on anything. In fact, they have to be up in the air, to the point where I feel like I've got claws that I'm typing with. Plus, we type the same gibberish all the time: a;sldkfj, and other "excercises" that are designed to fry your skull from the inside. All of this combines to make me type even slower than normally (I type about 25 words per minute usually), and make it an exhausting process..

Oh, plus the computers are brand new, and they're buggy as hell (we're having "problems" combining windows XP with the Novell log in system).

OH WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA

Dude, enjoy it while you can.

And you sit like that for posture, so you dont get unpostured.

But, yeah, I took the same class. On a real typewriter. The ribbon kind. Not electronic.

Now that is the foundation of technology

Ahhhh, the good old days.

um ya those casses are ullshit, I mean why the hell do you have to have your wrists in the air? I can type so much faster if they're resting on the edge of a desk and it is total bullshit I bet they haven't done tests on it the first person just did it that way and was a dictator and whipped people if they did it different so people just excepted it

I put this in bait and tackle so people could flame me, because I figured they would  If the moderators prefer it in here, then that's fine.

Yeah, I mostly just wanted to bitch. I'll admit it

I hated that class, everytime we misspelled a word it would be like 5 points off and when you first start the class at the begining they think you have never seen a keyboard in your whole life. They tell you like you dont know to type asdfjkl; then tell you to type small words like "the" or "are" Its like being in kindergarden again...lol.

im convinced they create these classes to make it looklike they are teaching us something but they just wan fundding and a way to bullshit time and have kids fail out of sheer agrivation so they can recieve aditional funding for tutors.

its a vicious plan. i wish i would have put it into action

They're even stricter here, it seems. If you cross your legs, slouch, look at the keyboard, or don't press the enter key with your pinkie, it's an automatic fail on the final exam. There are a ton of other rules and regulations, but its too complex for my simple mind...

i remember taking that class....at the end we had a full page to type out....word by word off a book....if you had one mistake you'd fail the final....this was in ..uhm..8th grade....
...on and the wrists in the air are to prevent carpols syndrome.....

But they have little rests to put your wrists on right there. You're just not allowed to use them.

I took a class like this in 4th grade, except it was participation-based only. Having strict standards like this doesn't help me at all.
