Hello, I can't not handle not asking you why the heck there is no clock in your classroom?
Maybe the classroom clock is analog. Some kids these days have a hard time telling time with an analog clock. Heck, after using digital clocks almost exclusively for the last thirty years, I have a hard time telling time with an analog clock too. I am no longer used to counting to figure out the time. I would rather add and subtract in my head as it is much faster for me.
I don't know how people just look at the clock and know what time it is. I always take a long time seeing where the hour hand and minute hand is.

Stop being a shitty teacher and help your students instead of punishing them.See it from her perspective - you were the 10th student that day who came up with an excuse for not handing in the essay - probably a requisite for passing your qualification. Truthful or not, a blanket approach is what's keeping her sane. The longer I teach the less I take a student at their word. Hope you learned what accountability is from this shitty experience
