Yeah .. so a lot of pitiful shit has happened to me lately .. and on top of it I'm grounded - so to make a long story short - I've been kind of depressed.

As usual, I'm not here to get anyone's sympathy, but all I can think to do is just watch comedy central to try and get some laughs or something .. works occasionally, but then every time .. at the end of the day when I'm trying to go to sleep .. I just feel shitty.

So uh .. pretty much .. I have to find a way to entertain myself without anybody else around and while I can watch tv, masturbate, and post on WTF.com, no matter what, I still feel bad at the end of the day and can't get to sleep.

If somebody has found a way to "un-depress" yourself, let me know.

I feel the same way. Thats why i am on wtf to get my mind off everything else. It might help if you go on and take your mind off everything.

I take pretty pills every day to un-depress myself. :hug2: Don't worry, you'll make it though. Do something nice and unselfish for your parents and maybe they'll let you off the hook. Helping my mom paint the laundry room got my car privileges back after only 2 days without them. It's worth a shot.

Have some Zoloft Casserole!! Weeeeee.....

Kidding. Anyways, on a more serious note just remember, and this is going to sound corny: Take it one day at a time. Live in the moment. The only thing you have to think about is the now. Don't worry about the past, or the future. Actually, don't worry at all. It's the most useless feeling ever.

Now that I've probably made an ass of myself, I'm done. Feel better!

Thats not making an ass of yourself thats proving a point that i should be rememboring.

Mind over matter. If something is really on your mind and it is making you depressed do something else that will take your mind off of. Like zoloft said it is not about whats happened or whats going to happen it is all about now. Now makes your past and your future. Live each day as if it were your last.

Try reading some books about overcoming depression.

And I'm not being an asshole, I'm serious. Even if you aren't clinically depressed, they can be helpful.

I found that when i was in a down period, i just basically got sick of it. Dont know if thats just me or whatever... but yeah, i get sick of feeling like crap and i make out a list of things that im going to do / achieve and just pump myself up basically. Which is probably alot harder for you seeing as your limited to just your house... :(

Is there like, a project you could do while your under 'house arrest' ? Like if you have scraps of timber around your house you could make something, if your into music and you play an instrument you could try and get a new song down pat...

Dunno if ive helped, but i hope you feel better soon :)

If you want to un-depress yourself, you need to find something you're passionate about. For some people it's painting, for some it's a sport, for some a musical instrument. Anything really. For me it was the bass guitar, whenever I was upset about something I just played bass. I actually played bass so much I've become a known bassist in some parts of my city (Phoenix, AZ). Do what you're passionate about, and work out. That's right, lift some weights. It gives you more energy and you feel better about just things in general. You also begin to look better, you've got nothing to lose. Give it a shot, it really does work.

Lately, when I've been depressed and couldn't go anywhere, reading has become a therapy of sorts. Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, The Pliocene Era books, Stranger in a Strange Land, just a few that come to mind. When I've finished a book it feels like I've accomplished something, even if it's only a small thing. I enjoy the escape in a way that movies, games, and even the internet, just doesn't do it. I'm sure there are millions of books just waiting to be read. Good luck, hope you feel better.

un depressing

i know where you are coming from and i have an idea about it from my own life. i wont bother telling my life story as its long and im not good at spelling, but i have found that if you look at things that you have accomplished each day, you will fell better. an example is im at this job that i just got put in. i had no say in it and im no good at doing it. for the first week all i did was sit at a computer every day doing what ever i wanted for 9 hours. it was boring. i felt shitty about it as i did nothing. i would wake up go to work and sit there in one place for 9 hours. this is not a computer job, i work on helicopters, and i would watch other people work on them every day, and i have to stay here and do nothing till its time to go home. what i did was think of something i could do that needed to be done, wether for myself, or my job, and try to do something about that as i sit here at work. it helps sometimes, and sometimes it dont. ive taken to desining a car that i want to build, and each time i find a part or something for that car, its closer to being done. this has helped me so i thought it might help you.

I shoot people.

HL2DM :p

But yeah, im a bit down. Just split up with my gf of 5 years. Not on bad terms, we just need to do our own thing for a bit. Fucking hurts though.

My head is all over the place. I'm sat here typing shit on a website I've not been to for ages, to people I have never heard of, while I'm getting paid.

Do what you want. What makes you happy. Lifes too short to fucking mope around and shit. Go have some fun.

Someone said talking to your best mate helps. It does. I did last night, and he managed to cheer me up.
