It is a great computer for word processing and email and stupid ass forums. That is about it. Dont try to play doom 3 or NFS underground on it. You can not upgrade it because of the chipset. Im buying my 11 and 9 yr olds those for christmass probably.
I have Need For Speed Underground for my game cube...

So that stupid thing is more powerful than my computer?

Sweet. I'm gonna duct tape my modem to it...

As to saying that you would prefer a Rage 128 over a Radeon 7000, are you nuts?! The Radeon 7000 has three times the performance, not to mention kick ass drivers. The ATI Catalyst drivers are the best in the industry (Especially the new Beta 4.9's.)
yes i would perfer the 128 over the 7000, for the reason that i play alot of quake 3 and cs and my rage 128 ran them fine, the 7000 was the worst card ever made by ati and it makes me lag like crap

ati's weren't really even that great until they came out with the 9800's.

WRONG. They were great when they came out with the 9700s. That was when ATI really shaped up, in terms of hardware quality and drivers.

i had a 9700, it was crap. the gf4 ti that was out at that time kicked its ass. i haven't had faith in nvidia ever since. i've been looking at the x800, but i think i'll still get the 6800GT.

I don't know what issues you had, but the 9700 kicked the living snot out of the GF4-TI. It wasn't even close. The 9700 was well over twice the speed with significantly more features and image quality. Maybe you're mistaking it for the 8500 series. The 9700pro was a hell of a card. It took two years for it to no longer be more than adequate enough for every single game out there at insane resolutions ([email protected]+6xAA+16xAF). Even now, it plays FarCry and Doom3 well enough at medium resolutions (1024x768/1280x960) with various levels of AA and AF enabled (2xAA/8xAF).

Even now, the 6800 series can't touch the image quality of the 9700/X800 series when using 6x-AA. The Nvidia series is left in the dust when running Temportal-AA like 6xT.

Wow BRiT, thems some nice systems. Ya got that fancy book lernin, don't cha?

I am buying a 9800SE and I am going to softmod it into a full 9800 Pro. It's gonna be l33t. I would rather have a 9700 Pro, though. I don't know why, I'm just sentimental about that card. My friend still owes me a 9700, but he has to find it...I guess I'm gonna ask him at school tomorrow.
