I have to fid a job that would pay me a decent amount but will also give me time to work on my college stuff.
All i have worked in so far is my school office and the local bookstore.

this is how getting a job works.

the best jobs are found via word of mouth, ask all your parent's friends to ask their friends if they know of anything going. this is better for you and the boss, the working relationship is better usually.
next best is walk-ins.. visit a few places that you want to work at. show initiative.
worst way to find a job is in the paper or at an agency, this is where the jobs not filled by friends and family, or people with the initiative to walk-in, are placed. you'll be working alongside just that kind of people.

i can't tell you what job to do, just see what your parent's friends come up with, you'll probably do fine from that.

this would actually give you really good potential (sounds wierd). You gain customer service experience, health and safety and hygien, working under stress and pressure for fast service, team work, quick thinking etc.

even if it's part-time, you can really go to town with this on your CV and it will possbly help you get better job. but thats my view

What about the newspaper ads that say they only want people to apply in person?

well that's just it.. for a job at this level (seasonal work, college kid jobs) to be unfilled after the word of mouth and walk-in avenues have been exhausted would lead me to believe that the job is a piece of shit..

i've had a few shit jobs.. :happysad:
