As a new member you are on somewhat of a probationary period. As you are being considered a contributing member by posting and conforming to wtf rule, your permissions will eventually increase. Be warned - posting only to increase your post count is frowned upon and is likely to be met with a boot to the ass. With one post under your belt much of the forums will be little more than you have now. This is temporary.

Those other posts are lies. The real reason is that the world isn't fair, and so we randomly disallow people from various parts of the site so nobody knows exactly what is actually broken and what is actually a 'feature'.
