I'm actually the guy having these feelings towards people who suddenly jump on the bandwagon in droves but I'm sure there are those who feel the same way when I jump on their bandwagons. In any case, wondering about the psychology behind it, since apparently I'm not alone in this, there must be a reason why people feel this way.
In my opinion, this can be traced back to you (people in general, not you specifically) believing your parents when they implied you're a special snowflake. In my experience, I think I've found something unique and untouched only to have the masses flock to it, then it sheds light on the fact I'm no different than the next fleshy blob on two legs and it pisses me off.
